About the Games

The BC Games are a stepping stone to higher level competitions for many young athletes who go on to represent their sport on Team BC at the Western Canada Summer Games or Canada Games and/or to compete at other national and international events, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

BC Games alumni include triathlete Kirsten Sweetland (who competed at the BC Summer Games in 2002), Olympian swimmer Brent Hayden (1998), and Canadian cyclist of the decade Ryder Hesjedal (1995).
